Daily Workout & Notes (10/16/25)

Today’s WOD:

Bench Press 5 sets of 6 reps (building)

12 minute AMRAP of:
1-3-5-7-9…
Wall Walks
12 Cal Assault Bike

Bench Press was not feeling great today. I warmed up with some lighter sets and then hit 6 reps at 135 lbs., which was already feeling heavy. My workout buddies wanted to jump to 185 lbs., so I tried it. Hit 3 reps and knew that it was not it for me. Went back down to 135 lbs. for another set, then two sets at 165 lbs., and tried 185 lbs. again but only hit two reps. My shoulder did not feel right and I was not willing to push it any further.

The class today went pretty much right into the WOD following the strength. It was not a good idea, the immediate heart rate increase made it tough to sustain a pace on the bike. Wall Walks actually felt fine today. Moved through the early sets quickly, went steadily through sets of 7 and 9 before finishing with 6 cals on the bike in the round of 6.

WOD Rating: 3/10; felt like the hour was a little under programmed, the warm up was not sufficient, and we rushed right into the WOD following the strength. That combined with the cold, a balky shoulder, and some foot pain made for a forgettable (but completed) workout today. They aren’t all going to be winner.
